Lucy is Emerita Professor of Music Education at the UCL Institute of Education, London UK. She is internationally known for her work in music education, particularly in relation to popular music, informal learning, new pedagogies, gender, ideology, musical meaning and more generally, the sociology of music. Currently she is working on research about self-accompanied singing. She has made two self-accompanied CDs.
Jasmine has had a life-long unique relationship with music education. She has taught within the formal education system for six years and has taught music education within community-centered organizations for 10 years. Jasmine is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Florida.

James is the artist in residence at the Purdue University Black Cultural Center and serves as the director for the Black Voices of Inspiration choir and the Purdue Express—a musical performance recruitment ensemble. He is also pursuing a doctoral degree in music education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
